Feature Request

Feature Request

What is a feature request?

A feature request is an ask from a user to make a certain change to your product. It can fall in to the following 3 categories:

  • Bug reports - when something doesn't work as expected.
  • Product improvement suggestions - user feedback for ways to improve existing functionality.
  • New feature request - where users identify a new problem your product does not currently solve and suggests a new feature that will help deliver more customer value.

Feature requests help product managers (PMs) better understand their users evolving needs and it it important to capture, review and prioritize the inflow of user feedback as part of the Ideation phase of the product management process and there are a number of product management tools built for this purpose, but the critical factor is to capture all feature requests in one place and to have an established process for receiving and managing requests.
